The filmmaker's bold commentary tackles the tyranny of feminine aesthetics as well as the perceived horrors of advancing years. However when an unknown lady disappears from the ship overnight and all passengers claims she was never there, the reporter's sleuthing skills awaken. Streaming currently, on Netflix

Presence

The acclaimed director tests his film-making abilities with this nifty supernatural story shot entirely from the perspective of the spirit. When a household featuring mother Rebekah and her distressed teen Chloe moves into their fresh home, the lens – AKA the Presence – shadows their actions. The Black Phone Horror

Scott Derrickson's locked-room horror remains effective despite the lack of a follow-up. Located in 1978 Denver, several disappearances has left the local kids anxious. The Eyes of Tammy Faye

In the battle between God and Mammon, the winner is obvious for Mammon in this director's wonderfully garish biopic of the disgraced religious broadcaster plus her lawbreaking partner. Andrew Garfield acts as the corrupt Bakker, who states at the beginning, claiming divine approval for wealth. The couple set about profiting from the people's Christian beliefs. It's a spectacle of bad interior design, overdone appearance and bad faith, though Jessica Chastain achieves to depict Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure.
